Coaxial Swirl Injector
The Coaxial Swirl Injector features multiple liquid oxygen (LOX) centered swirlers, with fuel swirlers on the outside. The injector works by flowing both propellants tangentially giving them a swirling motion through each swirler element. The LOX and fuel enter the combustion chamber with an angular velocity and at specific spray angles so that the propellants can thoroughly mix for efficient combustion. The bottom manifold also features a solid rocket motor acting as an igniter, and multiple sensors for reading injector pressures and temperature. The swirler elements are brazed to seal between the LOX and fuel. This injector interfaces with multiple types of engines chambers, including heatsink and ablative.
